Project Overview
The bus station building is a single-story structure located in al kassarat street (Industrial Area); the arrangement of spaces within the bus station building is driven by the flow of passengers through the building connecting the exterior public space to the boarding and alighting platforms. The bus station consists of a public Waiting area with direct adjacency to Retail, Prayer/Ablution rooms, and Bus Boarding and Alighting Platforms. The canopy geometry is set-out and formed in accordance with the architectural canopy intent of having inverted pyramidal units. These units are of varying plan widths and lengths, but are of uniform depth and have a central supporting column at their geometric plan center, The pyramidal canopy units themselves are comprised of deep truss sections that follow the profile of the inverted canopy (as per architect’s intent). These are supporting lightweight cladding on the bottom as well as top chord faces. The trusses cantilever outwards from the central supporting columns, and are capable of supporting the applied gravity loading as singular units

Scope Of Work
Construction, testing, commissioning and maintenance of the project: The Bus Station facility can accommodate 28 bus bays which includes 19 bus bays (drive in drive out type) and 6 bus bays (drive in reverse out) for boarding/ alighting the bus passengers and 3 bus bays (layover bays) for parking emergency buses to meet the demand of 95 buses per hour (frequency) for 15 terminating routes.
